Astoria Cinema Ayr shortlisted for major BIFA award – and voters have until September 21

Astoria Cinema Ayr is calling on local film fans for support after being nominated for Cinema of the Year at the BIFA Awards.

The cinema is based at 10 Burns Statue Square and is now encouraging customers and other supporters to cast their votes online. Voting is open through the BIFA website at bifa.film/coty-vote.

The Cinema of the Year award is sponsored by Kia. Voting will close on Monday, September 21, giving supporters until that deadline to back the Ayr venue.

Astoria Cinema Ayr is hoping the public vote will help it secure the title. The successful cinema will be announced at this year's BIFA ceremony on Saturday, December 6.

Customers and film fans who want to support the cinema can vote online before the September deadline.
