Demolition work at Ayr’s former Arran Mall is nearing completion, with new photographs showing the changing appearance of the site on Alloway Street.
The project involves removing the three-storey concrete office block on Alloway Street, along with the single-storey mall and retail units behind it. Work began in February and is being carried out by Dem-Master Demolition Ltd.
Demolition timetable revised
The demolition was originally scheduled to take approximately six months. South Ayrshire Council later confirmed that the expected completion date had moved to the end of September because the work had taken “slightly longer than initially anticipated”.
“We expect the demolition of Arran Mall to be complete by the end of September. This has taken slightly longer than initially anticipated, which is not unusual for this type of work.”
