Artists and makers from across Ayrshire are being invited to help shape a new exhibition celebrating the opening of The Auld Toy Shop in Ayr town centre.
“Ayr: Past, Present, Future” is being organised by Narture CIC and will bring together creative work exploring the town’s history, its character today and ideas about what may lie ahead. The group exhibition will be staged at The Auld Toy Shop, a new venue on Newmarket Street.
Exhibition will explore Ayr’s past and future
Organisers are looking for artists working across all disciplines and at every stage of their creative journey. That includes people who have not exhibited publicly before, as well as more established creatives.
Narture CIC is particularly keen to hear from emerging artists who may not normally come across opportunities to showcase their work. The invitation is open to artists and makers from across Ayrshire who would like to become involved.
Opening date and how to get involved
The exhibition is due to officially launch on Friday, August 21, 2026, with an opening event running from 4pm until 8pm. It will then continue until Monday, August 24, 2026.
The exhibition also forms part of the opening celebrations for The Auld Toy Shop. The Newmarket Street premises are being transformed into a new creative space in the heart of Ayr.
