Ayr India has been named Best Restaurant in Ayrshire at the 2026 Spice Awards, putting the Ayr restaurant among the Scottish event’s recognised Pan-Asian food businesses.
The awards ceremony was held at the DoubleTree Hilton in Glasgow. Organisers said the awards celebrate the best in Pan-Asian cuisine across Scotland, with winners selected through public nominations and voting, visits from judges and detailed submissions from finalists.
Ayr business recognised among regional winners
Ayr India was the Ayrshire winner in the Best Restaurant category. The restaurant’s team also received a Highly Recommended mention in the Best Team category.
Other Ayrshire businesses were recognised during the ceremony. New Fun Heng in Kilmarnock won Best Chinese Takeaway, while Zain’s Curry House in Dalry took the Best Takeaway & Delivery Service award.
La Dragon, also in Kilmarnock, was highly recommended in the Best Restaurant in Ayrshire category. Zain’s Curry House additionally received a Highly Recommended mention for Social Media & Marketing.
What the awards celebrate
The event covered a wide range of Pan-Asian dining, including Chinese takeaway, kebabs, sushi, pakora and curry. Warren Paul, the awards director, said the recognised businesses represented the strongest performers in the competition.
“The winners and those who just missed out are the best of the best so whether it’s a Chinese takeaway, kebabs, sushi, pakora or the richest curry you’ve ever dreamed of, these are the places to find them.”
Paul also praised the work and standards behind the winning businesses.
“These winners are the absolute example of hard work and high standards. That’s why we do this.”
