Police Scotland has released a CCTV image of a man officers believe may be able to assist with an investigation into a jewellery theft in Ayr, more than three months after the incident.
An item of jewellery was stolen from a shop on Alloway Street on Saturday, May 30. The jewellery has since been recovered, but police are continuing enquiries to trace the person connected with the theft.
What police say about the man
The man shown in the image is described as being around 30 to 40 years old and approximately five feet seven inches tall. Police said he had a stocky build, a shaven bald head and a bull-head tattoo on the back of his head.
At the time, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket over a light-coloured hoodie and light-coloured T-shirt, along with light-coloured trainers and black Adidas tracksuit bottoms. Police also said he spoke with “broken English”.

Anyone who can help identify or trace the man is asked to contact Police Scotland as soon as possible by calling 101. Callers should quote incident number 1506 of June 6, 2026.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The appeal follows the release of the CCTV image as police continue their investigation into the theft from the Ayr premises.
