A new GP walk-in service is planned for Ayr, giving local residents access to same-day primary care without an appointment. The announcement was welcomed by Siobhian Brown, MSP for Ayr, Prestwick and Troon.
The service will be open from 12pm to 8pm, seven days a week. It will focus on urgent, on-the-day medical needs and allow people to see either a GP or a nurse without first securing a routine appointment.

She also linked the expansion to the Scottish Government’s pledge to end the “frustrating 8am rush” for GP appointments, stating that more than 10,500 walk-in cases had been seen since February.
