A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Troon man accused of carrying out two serious assaults at Prestwick pubs after he failed to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court.
David Yeo, 40, was due to appear for a pre-trial first diet hearing on Wednesday, September 9. He faces two allegations of assault to severe injury and to the danger of life.
Alleged assault at Prestwick pub
The first allegation relates to the Vic and Vine on Main Street, Prestwick, on June 1, 2025. Court papers allege that Yeo punched a man on the head, pushed him on the body and put him in a chokehold, causing him to lose consciousness.
It is further alleged that the man was dragged and dropped on the ground. The charge describes the alleged assault as causing injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life.
Second allegation at Golf Inn
Yeo also faces a further charge relating to the Golf Inn on Main Street, Prestwick, on June 29 last year. The charge alleges that he pushed another man on the body, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground.
When the case was called at court the previous week, Yeo did not appear. His defence solicitor, Steven Maxwell, reportedly had no contact from him.
The court then issued a warrant for Yeo’s arrest. The allegations have not been proved in court.
