An Ayr hairstylist has been recognised as the best female stylist in Scotland after winning a top industry award at a national ceremony.
Rachael Macdonald, salon director at Rainbow Room International Ayr, was named Best Female Stylist at the 2026 Scottish Hair and Beauty (SHABA) Awards. The ceremony was held in Glasgow on Sunday, September 20.

The SHABA Awards celebrate talent across Scotland’s hair and beauty sector. This year’s event marked the awards’ 15th anniversary, with categories recognising excellence across a wide range of the industry.
Macdonald said she was delighted to receive the award and praised the event’s role in bringing professionals together.

She also highlighted the importance of hairstyling to her clients and the way it can support personal expression.
