Drivers using Bellevue Crescent in Ayr are being warned of a three-week closure while resurfacing works are carried out. The full 380-metre stretch between the junction with Racecourse Road and Park Circus is expected to shut from 8am to 5pm each day.
The closure is expected to begin on Tuesday, September 22, and continue until Tuesday, October 13. The road is due to reopen outside the daily working hours, although the dates and times could change depending on weather conditions.
What the closure means for drivers
Motorists will be diverted via the A719 Racecourse Road and Park Circus. The alternative route will operate in both directions while the works are under way.
A no-waiting restriction will also apply along the affected section. Drivers should follow the temporary traffic signs, as the restrictions will only be implemented when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Access during the Ayr roadworks
South Ayrshire Council said emergency service access will not be affected. Access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians outside the working area will be maintained wherever possible.
The closure affects the Craigie area of Ayr, with Racecourse Road forming part of the diversion route. Motorists travelling through the area should allow for the signed diversion during the daytime working period and check signs for any changes to the planned arrangements.
