A 24-year-old man from Dalry has admitted trying to steal a vehicle in Dailly after a trailer was attached to another vehicle, in a case heard at Ayr Sheriff Court.
Jack Hendry appeared in the dock during a brief hearing. He faced an allegation of attempting to steal a vehicle while acting with others, as well as further driving offences.
Guilty pleas
Hendry admitted attempting to attach a trailer containing a motor vehicle to another vehicle in Back Road, Dailly, with the intention of stealing it. The source states that the incident happened on May 10 this year.
He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at his address in Vennel Street, Dalry, on May 11, 2026.
His defence solicitor, Colin McLaughlin, told the court: It is a matter where the accused appeared from custody yesterday after a warrant. He pleaded guilty to the complaint.
Sentencing deferred
Sentencing was deferred while criminal justice social work reports are prepared and an assessment is carried out for a restriction of liberty order.
Hendry’s bail was continued. He has also been disqualified from driving until sentencing.
