The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight will return to Ayr’s Low Green in 2027 for a fifth consecutive year, with organisers confirming a two-day event on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4.
The announcement follows this year’s show, which brought aerial displays, live entertainment and a Festival Village to the Ayr shorefront. The event featured the Red Arrows, Typhoon and Airborne Pyrotechnics, while the Silver Swallows and Red Devils made their Ayr debut.
What happened at the latest Ayr show
The Festival Village provided a platform for Ayrshire businesses, with 24 traders taking part in the South Ayrshire Traders tent. More than half of the food vendors and many of the event’s suppliers were also locally based.
One of the weekend’s notable moments came during the Airborne Pyrotechnics display. The performance featured a world premiere set to a newly discovered piece of music by the late film composer James Horner, recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
South Ayrshire Council leader Brian Connolly welcomed the response to the latest event.
“Last weekend’s airshow was another one to remember. The turnout across the weekend was impressive, with a great atmosphere and lots of people enjoying themselves. I’m looking forward to doing it all again next year.”
