Ayr coffee shop Puck Espresso will donate £2 from every coffee sold at its first birthday event to support young people’s mental health.
The business will celebrate its first anniversary on September 26 with a fundraising day featuring guest baristas, prizes and special drinks. The event is being held during September, which is Suicide Awareness Month.
What is planned for the birthday event
Coffee expert Kris Sandlan, of Cairngorm Coffee, will take over the bar for the occasion. Customers will be able to order a one-off espresso alongside a signature drink created especially for the event.
There will also be a prize opportunity linked to the birthday drinks. Anyone who buys one of the signature drinks could win a prize if their cup has a winning sticker underneath.
All coffees will cost £2 on the day. Puck Espresso said the full amount from each coffee sold will be donated to SML Goods, an organisation that helps young people access mental health support.
Fundraising during Suicide Awareness Month
The event combines the shop’s first-anniversary celebrations with a fundraising appeal during Suicide Awareness Month. Puck Espresso thanked customers for their support over the past 12 months.
The business also suggested that another surprise announcement could be made before the September 26 event.
